Santa’s Village

Good morning, stitching friends!

Last week, Country Cottage Needleworks announced a new series starting this month called “Santa’s Village” – it’s a 12 month series. Shortly after the news came out, Vonna of The Twisted Stitcher announced that she was going to be starting a SAL (“Stitch Along”) blog, and I immediately jumped at the chance to join – it’s been a while since I participated in a SAL, or an exchange, or Round Robin, so I thought this might make a fun change of pace, and hopefully, would allow me to keep in touch with more stitchers, as we work on the same project.

The series is designed to be either stitched alone, or as part of a larger piece – I’ve decided that I’m going to stitch it in one piece, so I need to go to my LNS and pick up some fabric. It’s charted for Lambswool linen, which is one of my favorite linens to work with, so I’m not going to substitute the fabric.
This should be fun!

Comments

  1. I will be doing this as well, but haven’t joined Vonna’s SAL blog (yet) :)

  2. I love this series and I’m very tempted but I’m not supposed to be starting anything new. Famous last words!

  3. You really are good at this stitching.

Your pieces are all lovely. I’ve been having a look around at your blog. I love the new design by the way Hope wordpress is making you happy.
I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate all your lovely comments over my way Susan. Thank you

    • Thanks, Carolyn – I make it a habit to visit your blog on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, as I know they are the days you post. I used to have a similar schedule until I discovered WordPress, and really got into learning about site design, and now I’ve pretty much given up on the stitching, so not much to blog about these days!

I am loving being over here at WordPress – I’m sure that if I had more blog posts, I could get my old traffic to come and visit me – maybe that will be a job for the new year (either that, or pay to advertise on your blog – I was just looking at your rates – very reasonable!)

  4. What a perfect gift for Christmas! I hope you are enjoying the lead up to Christmas.

  5. Thanks for all your best wishes to me for Christmas. I wish you a fabulous one as well and look forward to perhaps meeting you in person in 2013.
